We have a full-time Reading Recovery Teacher who assists Year 1 students one-on-one who are experiencing difficulty with their reading to make greater progress.
Reading Recovery is an early intervention program that supplements regular classroom instruction for selected Year 1 students. It is a 30-minute daily lesson, individually designed to meet the literacy needs of the children who are on the program. The students selected to participate in the Reading Recovery program are those who, after a year at school in Kindergarten, appear to be at greatest risk of literacy failure.
