Road Safety at Revesby PS

The Revesby Public School community has a commitment to protecting and safeguarding students in their journey to and from school.

Of particular importance, is the safety of students on public pathways and roadways given that a major cause of casualties among the young is from road accidents.

Significantly the Bankstown local government area rates as third in the state for injuries involving young people over the past five years, due to road traffic incidents.

Local traffic in front of the school

Do you know? Times when school children are most at risk just before and after school when there is most congestion by both pedestrian and motor traffic.

We respectfully ask the cooperation of parents and carers who use their vehicles to drop off and pick up their children from the front of the school.

Please be aware that:

  • The school zone has a 40 km per hour speed limit
  • The NO STOPPING road signs are present to ensure maximum visibility at all times

"Kiss'n'Go"

Recently a "Kiss ‘n' Go" zone has been introduced where cars can stop for a maximum time of 2 minutes. This relieves traffic congestion around the school by ensuring cars do not park illegally. The "Kiss'n'Go" zone allows for smaller children to remain secured in the car while school age children are dropped off and picked up from school.

It is important to be mindful that road regulations are enforced and penalties do apply for illegal or unsafe driving behaviour.
